In order to protect a customer from additional charges, aside from their original rental cost, their rental must either:
-
- Be in transit using the label in their account online; on or before the due date (AKA Postmarked)
- Get extended at an additional cost or for 14 additional days at no cost so that the customer may have extra time to get the item in transit.
- Purchased, either voluntarily or by us, for the full amount of the book.
- Statuses a rental item can be in so that the customer will not be charged:
- RRC- Rental Return Complete
- RPC- Rental Purchase Complete
- RET- Return
- RWO- Rental Write Off
- RWOA- Return Not Required-Access Cards/Supplements
- CAP- Credit Applied
If your customers’ rental is not in one of these statuses then they can be charged up to the full list price of the book. So, if you don’t want the customer to be charged, make sure that before you move onto the next customer, you have moved the status of their original rental to one of the above statuses.
