In the event that a customer calls in asking how to return their rental there are a few talking points you can go over:
- The customer needs to return their package using secure packaging - meaning if the book can move around in transit - it could damage the box and not get back to us
- The customer should affix the return label to the outside of the box
- The customer should put the packing slip inside the box (but if they forget it - no big deal as long as they used their prepaid label)
- The customer should take their rental return to a UPS store and get a receipt
- If the customer has multiple books that won't all fit in one box then the customer should only generate the prepaid label indicating what will fit in their box and mail in as many shipments using separate prepaid labels as they need to so the books won't become damaged
- No - we won't mail them a box to return their rentals
- Examples of secure packaging to return their rental
- Shoe box - taped and stuffed so the book can't move in transit
- Adult beverage packaging - taped and stuffed so the book can't move in transit
- Bubble mailer
- Examples of poor return packaging
- Plastic bags
- affixing the label to the book
- Small book in a large box with nothing to cushion the book inside
- Multiple books containing the package to bulge - be at risk of opening in transit
